#DARETOLEAD

Dr. Brené Brown is waking up the world with her research on growing brave leaders and more courageous cultures. Her research shows that a daring leader is someone who cultivates a culture in which brave work, tough conversations, and whole hearts are the expectation. They are also self-aware, hold themselves and others accountable, lead with empathy and connection, take smart risks that lead to innovation, reset quickly after disappointments and setbacks, and give and receive feedback - especially when it's tough.

Based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, Dare to Lead™ is an empirically based courage-building programme that Brené refers to as a “skill-based playbook for leaders.” The most significant finding from her latest research is that courage is not an inherent quality, (you either have it or you don’t), but rather it is a collection of four skill sets that are teachable, measurable, and observable. These skill sets are:

  • Rumbling with Vulnerability: Facing risk, uncertainty, and emotional exposure with courage and clarity.
  • Living into our Values: Identifying, operationalizing, and practicing the beliefs that we hold most important.
  • BRAVING Trust: Creating or deepening connections in relationships and teams based on the seven elements of trust.
  • Learning to Rise: Learning and growing from the failures, setbacks, and disappointments that are inevitable when we are brave with our lives.
  •

The skill sets that make up courage are not new; they’ve been aspirational leadership skills for as long as there have been leaders. We just haven’t had the courage for real talk about courage. But it’s time.

We’re excited to bring you the Dare To Lead™ - an experiential workshop, co-facilitated by Caryn Conidaris and Aneshrie Yasar, based on Brené’s research and her New York Times #1 Bestseller.

The goal of Dare to Lead™ is to share everything Dr Brown has learned about taking off the armour and showing up as daring leaders in a skills-based and actionable workshop and a playbook. Through engaging group work, small group sharing, individual reflections, and facilitated discussion (all introduced by video teachings from Brené), you will get this 'courage work' into your bones. Not only will it change how you work and lead, you will also become a better spouse, parent, and friend... and you will become more courageous in all areas of your life.

This two and a half day workshop is your invitation to become a braver leader.

About The Dare to Lead Programme

Dr. Brené Brown’s Dare to Lead™ is an empirically based courage-building programme designed to be facilitated by organisational development professionals.

Brené is a research professor at the University of Houston where she holds the Huffington Foundation – Brené Brown Endowed Chair at The Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy, and most recently completed a seven-year study on courageous leadership. She is the author of five #1 New York Times bestsellers: The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly, Rising Strong, Braving the Wilderness, and Dare to Lead, which also debuted at #1 on The Wall Street Journal and Publisher’s Weekly lists.

The most significant finding from Brené’s latest research is that courage is a collection of four skill sets that are teachable, measurable, and observable. The Dare to Lead™ programme focuses on developing these courage-building skills through workshops, training and coaching to help individuals, teams, and organisations move from armoured leadership to daring leadership.
